Following on from the huge success of our Independent Birmingham Festival at Aston Hall (which saw 2000 people descend on the iconic heritage site for a day of feasting, drinking, shopping local and rocking out to the bands on our main stage) we’re back, again, for another fantastic event.
Introducing ‘Gindependent Birmingham Presents: Gin Battle’.
We’re pitting 4 of the best gin distilleries in the country against each other to see who will come out trumps and be crowned the winner of Gin Battle. And yes, you’re right, that does sound incredibly awesome. The rules are simple:
On 1-3 December, journey to Brum’s oldest inn, The Old Crown (Digbeth), where it’s officially gin o’clock. Upon arrival you’ll be given a token to redeem a FREE double gin and tonic (choose from one of 4 signature G&T’s, one created by each distillery). Then during the evening each distillery will be championed by one of Birmingham’s best bartenders who will host a cocktail demonstration where they’ll showcase the distillery’s gin and you’ll be given the opportunity to taste each creation from all 4 bartenders!
Throughout the evening each signature G&T, and 4 special gin cocktails (one created by each distillery), will be available to purchase at the bar and street food will be available throughout the evening to line your stomach for yet more gin. Once you’ve tasted all the gin creations, it’s time to crown your winner – you’ll be given a token at the start of the evening and once you’ve had ample time to sample the delights of each distillery, you can then hand your token to your chosen winner. At the end of the night, the distillery with the most tokens wins.
In addition to all the gin, there will also be live music and party games taking place throughout the evening. Gin wheel of misfortune anyone?

Tickets cost just £20 (£15 for early bird) and include: entry to the event, a FREE signature double gin and tonic (from your choice of distillery) and 4 gin cocktail tasters made by Brum’s best bartenders.
