Lost Harbours play Centrala 19th May

Lost Harbours is the project of singer/songwriter Richard Thompson and regular band members Emma Reed (WeUs / CAAD) and Sabine Moore (Waterflower), plus collaborators Diana Collier (The Owl Service) and Bobbie Watson (Comus). They create beautiful, heretically devotional and eerily phantasmagorical songs that drift in an ambient backdrop of electronics and found sounds, whilst drawing influences from Eno’s ambient records, myths and folklore, and the work of Coil, John Martyn, Six Organs of Admittance and The Incredible String Band.

Their third and latest album, Towers of Silence, was met with positive reviews from the Wire Magazine, The Quietus and Loud and Quiet, to name a few. In the past few years they’ve toured around Europe and supported the likes of Mirrorring, Boduf Songs, Jessica Bailiff, Goodiepal and Nadja.

A gloriously unsentimental, quietly subversive, rivetingly emotional journey into the dark heart of the English landscape, Towers of Silence is Middle England’s nightmare. – Louder Than War

I’ve lately been entranced by the stately folk and ambient imbalance of HYMNS & GHOSTS by Southend-on-Sea duo Lost Harbours, who alternately set up vast hillsides of heathen chorales and natural rushing wind followed by dextrous flute and guitar pieces. Julian Cope – Head Heritage

“Aside from being perhaps the best album released in 2012, Southend duo Lost Harbours’ Hymns & Ghosts was also perfectly titled”. The Quietus

“Lost Harbours nail perfectly the sense of mystery of that imaginary world populated by serene creatures from space”. The Wire
