Tamatanga Restaurant to open in Birmingham

Following the success of their Nottingham eatery, Indian restaurant tamatanga, loved for their hearty, home-style Indian food, have today announced the opening of a second site.
Due to open in September 2017, the new premises, which will be located on Navigation Street in Birmingham will see a revamp of the tamatanga brand, which has been going strong in Nottingham for almost nine years.

Fuss free and relaxed, tamatanga, known for its great value and laid back, fun vibe is an eatery for everyone from students to families, offering exceptional value with a day time deal available until 6pm and daily two for one cocktails.

Operations Director, Rahul Khurana, said:

We’re hugely excited to bring tamatanga to Birmingham in September. This is the perfect place for us. It’s buzzing and pulsing with life and aspiration. We like to do things differently… let’s just say we’re not your average Indian! We feel that we’re the perfect addition to the local food and drink scene, catering to the appetite and passion of those around us and further out, too.

Cooking from their hearts, the kitchen team use fresh, wholesome ingredients to create food that is real and homely. Bursting with flavour but light and easy to eat, the menu is varied and unique. From hearty biryanis and classic curries to more unusual offerings, tamatanga is renowned for its legendary thalis, filling grill platters, warming wraps and seriously good salads.

Birmingham will see tamatanga offer a breakfast menu from 7.30am on weekdays with its own twist on the usual morning fare, and at the weekends, a comforting brunch menu will run from 10am with a bottomless boozy option and a weekly hair-of-the-dog cocktail to banish any cobwebs!

Children and families are wholeheartedly welcome and baby changing facilities, highchairs, balloons, crayons and colouring are all part of the package along with a fantastic kids’ menu which has something for even the fussiest of eaters.

The bar area will feature its own seating for those who are just after a drink, with a small but perfectly formed bar menu to satisfy the munchies. Drinks are not overlooked here – a vast array of gins, craft beers and creative cocktails with exotic garnishes will sit beside coolers, wines, lassis and soft drinks.

The new space will be situated on Navigation Street, between The Mailbox and Grand Central and is designed to inspire and entertain, invoking the essence of India in a fun and light hearted way.
