The Night Owl celebrates third birthday with big soul music weekender!

The Night Owl has been providing Birmingham soul fans with unforgettable nights for three years. The club, based on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth have made themselves known for iconic tribute nights for artists such as David Bowie and Prince, Northern Soul flash mobs in Birmingham City Centre, soul all nighters at the prestigious Birmingham Town Hall and an immeasurable amount of live music and all night dance parties spanning decades and genres.

The independently run club is celebrating its birthday with two all nighter events of live soul music and DJs playing all sorts of retro genres in July.

The party starts on Friday, July 13th with Southern Soul and blues ensemble The Atlantic Players. The eight piece Moseley based outfit were the soundtrack to The Night Owls’ opening night back in 2015, and soon to be bringing their huge live sound to the soul, mod and Motown party. They’re accompanied by DJs Richard Priest, Josh Pye, Steve Jools ‘Sweat’ Belgium and Johnny Weston spinning their favourite tracks well into the night.

Kicking off part two on Saturday, July 14th are the highly praised Backbone Slips, a powerful hammond-driven soul force to be reckoned with due to their authentic 60s grooves. A whole host of resident Night Owl DJs including Glyn Preece, Mazzy Snape, Jo Prinsen, Sonny & Spare and many more will be injecting a heavy dose of soul at the amplified Dig? 12 Hours of Power. An all night session of the clubs weekly (and ever popular) club night, along with a BBQ to keep dancers grooving for 12 straight hours.

Those wishing to join in on the festivities and celebrate three years of Birmingham soul can purchase tickets from The Ticket Sellers. With early bird tickets already sold out for both days, it’s looking to be a jam packed weekend for music lovers.

The Night Owl Third Birthday Part 1 starts on Friday, July 13th at 9pm and Part 2 starts at 5pm on Saturday, July 14th.
