Jekyll and Hyde Gin Garden to celebrate Birmingham’s favourite spirit

An open air bar serving a range of different gins will pop up on the park at Birmingham Independent Food Fair, run by the city’s leading gin bar.

The Jekyll and Hyde Gin Garden will showcase the juniper-based spirit in various incarnations. Visitors will indulge in craft gins from small local distilleries, as well as from more established gin brands.

Birmingham-distilled Langley’s is expected to be among the gins on offer, as well as Burleigh’s, Hendricks, Bloom and a number of new and unusual distils. The final list will be released ahead of the festival.

The pop-up is a first for the vintage pub, which stocks over 80 different gins at its Victorian-themed venue on Steelhouse Lane.

The team will recreate the nostalgic and quirky vibe of their gin parlour at Birmingham Independent Food Fair, where they will take up residence on the front lawn outside Millennium Point.

The Gin Garden will be decorated and themed on a vintage English summer, with bunting, elegant seating and live entertainment.

Drinks on offer will include the Classic Gin and Tonic, and a Fruity Summer Punch made by blending gin with refreshing fruit and mixers. More drinks recipes are being planned for the event.

Vicky Liner-Douglas, marketing manager at the Jekyll and Hyde, said:

“Here at The Jekyll we’re very proud of being part of the ever growing independent food and drink scene in Birmingham.

“We’re excited to bring a range of gins from the well-known and loved to the more undiscovered  – served with a range of tonics and as fabulous cocktails”
