Live Music Weekends at The Big Bull’s Head!

The Big Bull’s Head joins just a small list of public houses in Birmingham that can offer a little bit of everything!

Situated in the heart of Digbeth, The Big Bull’s Head now can tick all of the boxes, excellent pub food (check out the rack of lamb or homemade Beef & Guinness pie), excellent atmosphere (locals characters), excellent accommodation (rooms well appointed, clean and comfortable), excellent function space and now the best in live music and late night entertainment!

Friday night happened to be their big summer launch party and what a night it was! The amazingly talented BEAR, made up of Faye Smith & Gordan Begard kicked off their night with a soulful, captivating set which grabbed the ears, hearts and attention of everyone in the room. A room / venue, which in its self got the attention of everyone who attended.

BEAR were followed by a live fire show, a first I believe at the Bull’s Head and the first I’ve heard in Birmingham for a long time… all faces were on Anna Boda and Greg who created a magical performance for the audience, stopping cars and passers by.

The man himself, Ash Sheehan (The Twang/Grandmaster Ash) with his phenomenal bassist Daniel Wilkes, took the stage to ‘smash up the place’ … which he did in fine fine form. From 21 seconds to ‘I’ll tell me Ma when I get home’ Ash the whole pub/venue in the palm of his hands.

The live drum show went down a storm with beer being thrown on the drums (and on some occasions, missed the drums ha), the audience finally got roped into playing the beats and drums whilst Ash strapped his guitar back on and went straight into ”what’s it called, Lee’s Mum’s bald” and really got the party started… they went from there, through Limbo, Open Jams and onto DJ Aero who showed his immortal DJ skills and carried the party on until the early hours of Saturday!

This venue has such potential and I believe it’ll only now go from strength to strength. Only left me asking, when is the next party? Friday 20th May – Irish Wrist Watch, starts at 21:00 – Live music – Nine Dart Finish – Bad Girlfriend – DJ’s Aero & Beyond – FREE TIP TOPS – and drinks offers all night! Come take a look at Digbeth’s newly found once hidden gem.
