Shop Quality Vintage Clothing That’s Worth the Weight

It’s time for savvy shoppers to celebrate as Birmingham sees The Vintage Weigh & Pay return with their pop up event this February. The vintage shopping experience will transform St Martin’s Church in the Bullring on Saturday 18th February by offering thrifty fashion fans the innovative opportunity of filling their wardrobes without breaking the bank by paying for the weight of clothes.

The way it works is simple; upon entry, customers will be let loose upon thousands of vintage pieces for both men and women and snap them up for just £15 per kilo. With items dating from the 1960’s onwards and no minimum spend, customers have the chance to find a vintage bargain and pay as little as £1.50. From Converse and classic vintage sportswear to perfectly patterned 60’s shifts and tailored tweed jackets, there’s something for everyone amongst the six tonnes of stock that’s ready to be rummaged through at the event.

Created by an award-winning events team with over ten years experience, The Vintage Weigh & Pay started in 2016 and quickly recognised the demand for affordable vintage fashion and set about meeting these expectations. In just a year, the event has rapidly grown in recognition and popularity, now visiting multiple cities every weekend and welcoming shoppers in their thousands.

“More and more people are looking for a different way to buy clothing as we’re all searching to create a wardrobe that’s stylish, individual but affordable,” says founder and organiser Lou Glover, “This event offers that revolution needed to the normal shopping experience; it’s a novel and innovative way that gives vintage clothing a new lease of life. The exploration element of it makes it really exciting and allows shoppers to be creative as they experiment and buy things that they normally wouldn’t even think to try.

We do take pride in bringing as much variety to our events as possible, and by collaborating with two amazing wholesalers, we’re able to offer quality vintage pieces that really set us apart from similar events.”

She adds, “The reaction we have had from Birmingham shoppers in the past has been amazing, so we’re very excited to return and hope they are ready to rummage and hopefully find many a bargain!”

Doors will open at St Martin’s at 10am for early bird access, costing £3, and general public entry is £1.50 from 11am-5pm.
