Exclusive Om Unit gig

Om Unit, Friday 10th of May at the Dark Horse Moseley – Free Entry

It’s with great pleasure we are able to bring a real pioneer of electronic music back to Birmingham, but this time for an exclusive set of unreleased works and did we mention – it’s free entry!

Om Unit is one of only a few artists to have released a full artist album on Goldie’s legendary Metalheadz label, and he has gone on to create his own imprint known as Cosmic Bridge releasing his third album ‘Self’ in 2017. His music expertly plays with the notion of genre, fusing influences and styles from the deeper end of the electronic music spectrum including Jungle, Footwork, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and more. His music can be characterised by his use of ethereal melodies and complex rhythmic sensibilities, always with a nod to the soundsystem culture in which the style is rooted.

21:00 – 03:00 (extended late license)

DJ Mag earmarked Books as one to watch with his 2018 album ‘Station’ out on Detuned Transmissions. He explores a minimal aesthetic in his productions, creating ‘immersive sonic environments’, rich in texture, detailed grainy ambience and saturated sonics. A regular behind the decks at London’s One Seventy, he’ll be making his solo debut in Birmingham.
