Newcastle trio Dunes take over The Victoria on Thursday, 23rd October, bringing their signature blend of stoner rock and alt-grunge to Birmingham’s underground scene. Known for their fuzz-drenched sound and hook-heavy songwriting, the band channels the raw spirit of 90s desert generator parties and the sweat-soaked intensity of the grunge era.
With their third album, Land of the Blind, out now, Dunes are riding high on a wave of critical acclaim. Their music has been praised for its haunting guitar work, thunderous basslines and explosive energy. It’s stoner rock at its finest, with a melodic edge that sets them apart.
Joining the bill are Flamebearer, a heavy rock four-piece whose live shows are a full-throttle assault of power and precision. Expect blistering riffs, pounding drums and a set that refuses to hold back.
Opening the night are Worcester punk veterans Fights & Fires, who’ve been tearing up stages across the UK and Europe since 2008. With a discography that includes three albums, multiple EPs, and even a hot sauce, their shows are known for high energy and a love of chaos.
