Sterling Press headline The Victoria on Friday, 14th November, bringing their signature fusion of gritty rock and rhythm-heavy dance-punk to one of Birmingham’s most beloved grassroots venues.
The West London four-piece, comprised of Marlon, Ed, Greg and Lucien, grew up together, cutting their teeth in the capital’s dive bars before relocating to Liverpool. There, DJ residencies at the iconic Jacaranda Club helped shape their synth-laced, beat-driven sound.
Their music nods to the melodic sensibilities of The Beatles and the cheeky swagger of Blur, but with a contemporary edge that’s built for the stage. Expect a set packed with hooks, charisma and genre-hopping creativity.
Joining them are Birmingham’s PHWOAR, a high-energy alt-indie duo with a DIY ethos and infectious songwriting. With Helena on drums and Paul on guitar, the pair trade vocals over raw, punchy arrangements that channel the spirit of garage rock with a pop twist.
Opening the night are Vendetta Television, a five-piece grunge ‘n’ roll outfit whose sound is loud, chaotic and unapologetically fierce. Their live show blends distorted guitars, punk urgency and rock’n’roll grit into a set that’s built to shake the room.
