Bristol’s Ead Wood take centre stage at The Victoria on Thursday, 6th November, bringing their distinctive blend of indie rock and alt-country to Birmingham’s favourite grassroots venue. Originally the solo project of Ed Soles (Langkamer, Gork), Ead Wood has grown into a vital voice in the UK’s independent scene, known for their prolific output and emotionally rich songwriting.
Fresh off the release of their debut album Cash Mountain via Breakfast Records, the band are touring with a renewed sense of purpose. The record sees Soles lean into Americana influences, pairing rousing choruses with introspective folk textures and showcasing a quietly original take on modern alt-country.
Joining the bill are Birmingham’s Heavy Focus, a four-piece whose sound draws from the melodic intricacy of Big Thief and the wistful charm of The Smiths. With layered arrangements and thoughtful lyricism, they offer a fresh, heartfelt take on indie folk.
Opening the night is Mac Wood, a rising Birmingham-based artist whose music blends nostalgic indie rock with raw, empowering lyrics. With a background that spans South-East Asia and the UK, Wood’s perspective is refreshingly unique, and his debut singles have already earned praise from critics and fans alike.
