Birmingham Rep weaves a wonderful web of theatre magic for young people across Birmingham this January

Last week Birmingham Rep opened their festive offering for younger audiences, with Anansi The Spidercoming to The Door – running until Sunday 11 January.

The production has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and audiences alike, and The Rep are delighted to announce that following its run it will tour to 17 libraries with a compact touring version across Birmingham and the West Midlands in January and February.

The tour has been devised to give more young people and families within the local community an opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre and storytelling – with all tickets provided completely free of charge, thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

This magical show, aimed at young people aged 4-8 years and their grown-ups, shares West African and Caribbean folktales of the infamous trickster, Anansi The Spider. Packed with live music, singing and dancing, it promises the perfect introduction to theatre for little ones.
