Rising Irish stars Kingfishr, Super Furry Animals, Frank Turner, US singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams and Brum’s own Katherine Priddy are among the latest big name additions to Birmingham’s Moseley Folk and Arts Festival (Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September 2026).
Sea shanty kings The Longest Johns and British ‘60s folk legends Jacqui McShee’s Pentangle are also set for the West Midlands boutique festival’s 20th anniversary edition, along with London quartet Goblin Band, The Wran, Junior Brother, Australia’s Folk Bitch Trio, Katacombs, Dave Lofts, Madra Salach, Family Stereo, Brooklyn-based lo-fi folk artist Hudson Freeman, Scotland’s Curiosity Shop, hotly tipped Londoners Little Grandad, Dermot Henry, and Moseley Folk Festival’s regular hoedown callers Cut A Shine.
The frenetic Destroyers (who appeared at the very first Moseley Folk Festival, back in 2006), prog-folkers Bonfire Radicals, Gingham, and singer-songwriter Aayushi – all of whom hail from Birmingham – also appear.
They’ll be joining the previously announced Dead South (headlining Sunday), Johnny & Lillie Flynn (Saturday), and Joshua Burnside (Saturday).
Friday night’s headliner Kingfishr are one of the hottest bands to emerge from Ireland’s increasingly vibrant music scene. Their debut album, Halcyon, hit number one in Ireland – where the single Killeagh topped the charts on three separate occasions (totalling more than 15 weeks), to become the country’s most-listened-to track of 2025 and the most streamed song this decade.
Further evidence of Ireland’s current creative explosion comes from The Wran (Saturday), who infuse traditional Irish tunes with both a punkish attitude and a psychedelic edge; alt. folk singer-songwriter Junior Brother (Saturday); Dublin six-piece Madra Salach (Friday), whose spring IE/UK tour has already sold out; and fast-rising TikTok sensation (and Kingfishr labelmate) Dave Lofts (Friday).
Saturday sees Wales’ Super Furry Animals make a much anticipated return to the stage after almost a decade apart. Expect an irresistible set from the headliners that honours three decades of sonic adventure, creative rebellion and enduring, collective curiosity.
Punk/folk hero Frank Turner (Sunday) is one of the UK’s most uncompromising artists. In addition to a string of major albums – including 2024’s Undefeated and 2022’s number one FTHC – Turner also holds the Guinness World Record for the most concerts headlined in 24 hours in multiple cities (15).
Also gracing Sunday’s Main Stage is multiple-Grammy winner Lucinda Williams, whose acclaimed just-released 16th album, World’s Gone Wrong, is arguably the most provocative, direct and urgent of her decade-spanning career.
Meanwhile, Katherine Priddy makes a much welcomed return to the festival on Saturday. Currently on her biggest UK tour to date, Katherine’s much-anticipated third collection, These Frightening Machines, is set for release on March 6 (via Cooking Vinyl).
