A huge night of modern prog, alt metal and high octane rock lands at The Victoria on Friday 24th April as Godsticks headline, with support from Jiksaw and Rome Is Burning.

Godsticks have carved out a reputation as one of the UK’s most distinctive progressive rock and metal bands since first emerging in 2009. Praised by Metal Hammer as “the UK’s most idiosyncratic rock band,” they broke through internationally with their 2015 album Emergence, a genre bending release that led to their signing with Kscope.

Their evolution has continued across Faced With Rage (2017), Inescapable (2020), and This Is What A Winner Looks Like (2023), each album showcasing their trademark blend of precision riffs, intricate solos and a rhythm section that hits with surgical force. On stage, they’ve become known for their explosive, tightly honed performances, the kind of live show that leaves a mark.

Now, after 18 months in the studio, Godsticks return with new material from their forthcoming seventh album, a record they describe as their most demanding and intense yet. Expect a darker, heavier incarnation of the band, ready to unleash a wave of pent up energy and a setlist packed with power.

Main support comes from Jiksaw, a genre twisting DIY rock band delivering intense vocals, towering guitars and primal grooves. Their sound pushes modern rock into bold, unpredictable territory.

Opening the night are Rome Is Burning, formed in 2024 and already drawing comparisons to Queens of the Stone Age, Velvet Revolver and the golden era of grunge. With a debut album on the way and a busy year ahead, they bring hook driven, groove laden rock built for big stages.

A three band lineup loaded with technical precision, heavy riffs and serious live energy: ideal for fans of modern prog, alt rock and anything loud enough to shake the room.
