To mark the first day of opening on Saturday 21 March, from 5-8 pm, at its new Sutton Coldfield pizzeria on 10 Birmingham Road. Friends and supporters of Erdington Foodbank and Rudy’s are invited to attend while the team puts its training into practice. All proceeds from the evening – including funds raised through a raffle – will be donated to the charity. Bookings for the charity night can be made through this link.
Rudy’s serves fresh, authentic Neapolitan pizza daily. The team believes Neapolitan pizza is the best in the world and adheres to traditional methods passed down by masterful Neapolitan pizzaioli. They take pride in preparing their dough fresh every day using 00 Caputo flour, double fermenting it for 24 hours. Crafted with authentic Neapolitan ingredients, Rudy’s pizzas showcase the Holy Trinity: 00 Caputo flour, San Marzano tomatoes from the foot of Mount Vesuvius, and the world’s creamiest mozzarella, Fior di Latte.
While pizzas are a key part of Rudy’s, it wouldn’t be a traditional Naples experience without a well-stocked bar. Visitors will be able to wash down their food with iconic Italian spritzes, crisp Italian and local lagers, and classic stirred cocktails, alongside cocktail specials perfect for warmer weather, such as the mango margarita or limoncello spritz.
Since launching in 2015, Rudy’s has grown from one restaurant in Manchester to more than 37 pizzerias nationwide. The Sutton Coldfield restaurant marks the fifth opening in the West Midlands, following the popularity of its city centre, Brindley Place, Harborne and Royal Leamington Spa sites.
The new opening has created 20 jobs in the local area, spanning roles in the kitchen, front of house, and management.
Commenting on the new opening, Neal Bates of Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing Rudy’s to Sutton Coldfield. Our team is passionate about serving the most authentic Neapolitan pizza, and we can’t wait for people in the area to experience the flavours that have made Rudy’s a nationwide favourite.”
Testament to its authenticity, Rudy’s is the largest organisation in the world to be accredited by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), the international body that protects and promotes traditional Neapolitan pizza-making.
In 2025, Rudy’s was also recognised among the World’s 50 Best Pizzerias, ranking 23rd globally. Each pizza – from the classic Margherita to the fiery Calabrese – is made to AVPN standards using traditional techniques and ingredients sourced directly from Italy.
