A night of indie ambition and rising talent sparkle arrives at The Victoria on Friday, 8th May, as Apollo Junction take the headline slot, joined by special guest Gemma Ballam.

Fresh off the back of their charting album ‘What In The World’, which climbed to Number 6 on the Record Store Chart and Number 8 on the Independent Album Chart, Apollo Junction head into Birmingham with serious momentum behind them. Renowned for their genre mixing approach, euphoric hooks and electric live presence, the band are using this intimate run of shows to road test new material alongside the anthems fans already love.

Their profile continues to rise, with a summer of major festivals and outdoor dates supporting Richard Ashcroft ahead of them, further cementing their reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting live prospects. Expect huge choruses, emotional lift and the kind of communal moments that turn a gig into a celebration.

Opening the evening is Birmingham based indie rock artist Gemma Ballam, originally from the Scottish Highlands and fast becoming one of the region’s standout new voices. Her music blends vulnerable, heartfelt lyricism with agile vocals and captivating guitar work, creating songs that feel both deeply personal and instantly engaging.

Her trio of singles released in early 2024 marked the beginning of a promising rise, with more new music expected in 2026. Fans of Paramore, Julia Wolf and The 1975 will find plenty to connect with in her polished yet emotionally grounded sound.

A powerful double bill of anthemic indie and heartfelt songwriting that’s unmissable for anyone looking to fill their Friday night with big melodies, big emotion and the thrill of catching artists on the rise.
