- Society Birmingham welcomes Korean fried chicken masters Yoki Social Table to its roster of indie street food traders
- Trading from 12th October
- 40 free portions of KFC up for grabs on launch day
Independent food and drink destination Society Birmingham will welcome Korean soul food legends Yoki Social Table to its line-up of street food traders on 12th October, bringing its signature Korean fried chicken to One Colmore Square.
To celebrate the launch, the Yoki Social Table team will be giving away 40 free portions of KFC on opening day. Twenty portions will be up for grabs from midday, with another twenty available from 5pm. Both batches will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so fried chicken lovers will need to be quick as once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Yoki Social Table was born from a love for Korean cuisine and cooking. Denny K Song, the founder of Yoki Social Table, developed his skills during his time in the Korean Navy as a chef. After moving to the UK, he found himself missing the food and flavours of home, particularly his mum’s cooking, and set out to bring those much-loved recipes to a new audience. A firm favourite at Society Manchester since the food hall opened in 2021, Yoki will make Birmingham its fourth location, alongside its kitchens at Boxpark Shoreditch and Boxpark Liverpool.
Guests can expect a menu packed with Korean comfort food, from classic Korean mandu’s (dumplings), to succulent crispy duck layered over steamed rice with soy garlic bulgogi sauce. Yoki’s signature Korean fried chicken comes coated in house-made soy garlic sauce, sweet & spicy sauce, or honey butter garlic sauce, and is served with crispy fries or freshly steamed rice.
Yoki Social Table joins a strong line-up of independent street food traders, including local favourites Asha’s Indian Street Food, burger slingers Bostin’ Burgers, Japanese sando specialists Shokupan and popular Pan-Asian kitchen Manzoku.
Denny K Song, founder of Yoki Social Table, said:
“We couldn’t be more excited to be opening at Society Birmingham and bringing our favourite Korean dishes to the city. We’ve been part of the Society family for five years, so opening here feels like a natural next step in our journey. “To celebrate, we’re giving away 40 portions of our signature Korean fried chicken on opening day. It’s our way of saying hello to our new neighbours and giving them a taste of what we do. We’ll have 20 portions up for grabs from midday and another 20 from 5pm, so get down to Colmore Square early on 12th October!”
Nick Gregory, Co-founder at Society Birmingham, added:
“Yoki Social Table has been a much-loved part of Society Manchester since 2021, and we’re so excited to welcome them to Birmingham. Their passion for what they do shines through in the quality of their food, and they’ll be a brilliant addition to our line-up.
“Their menu is all about great Korean food that feels relaxed, accessible and easy to enjoy throughout the day, and we can’t wait for Brummies to get a taste of Yoki Social Table’s legendary Korean fried chicken.”
