Spotify Fresh Finds Artist Serena Sun – Birmingham, 10 November

Singer, songwriter, and producer Serena Sun is gearing up for the release of her new single ‘Tell Me… Please’, slated for release on 30 October via Slice of the Sun Records/ Head Bitch Music. Sun has built an international audience across Canada, the UK, and Europe, earning over 3.4 million streams. A Spotify Fresh Finds Forward Artist for 2026, she has sold out headlines in Vancouver and London, completed an eight-city European tour supporting LEITH, and played festivals like Rifflandia and Khatsahlano. She has opened for RINI, Luna Li, Jo Hill, and Michael Seyer, shared festival stages with Lorde, Lauv, and Charli XCX, and made the Glastonbury 2025 Emerging Talent Competition shortlist. Supported by the likes of BBC Introducing London, EARMILK, and CBC, her work includes a sync on Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant.

Playing piano since age five and writing and producing by her teens, Serena Sun spent three years in London from 2023 to 2026 before returning to Vancouver. Her period abroad heavily inspires her debut concept record, Slice of the Sun, which explores growth, homesickness, self-doubt, and starting over. Drawing from influences like Samia, Dora Jar, Del Water Gap, and Slow Pulp, Serena pairs airy vocals and vivid, story-driven lyrics with production spanning acoustic textures, dreamy indie pop, and gritty guitars,

‘Tell Me… Please’ opens with meditative acoustic guitars accompanied by swells of manipulated electric lead. As laid-back acoustic percussion falls into place, Serena Sun begins a rich, lyrically packed retelling of youth, growing up, and the often overwhelming uncertainty that comes with it. Paired with the track, a whimsical lyric video shows Serena surrounded by rabbits, with artistic lettering and animated visuals bringing her heartfelt narrative to the screen. Catchy enough to feel satisfyingly poppy without becoming so polished that its lyrical depth is obscured, ‘Tell Me… Please’ is sure to ensnare fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Soccer Mommy, and Adrianne Lenker.

Serena Sun shared, “I wrote ‘Tell Me… Please’ as a plea to God, begging for a sign for what to do next. It’s about releasing control after feeling the pressure of my fate being in my hands and looking outside myself for help.”

Serena Sun will support London-based singer-songwriter Cristina Hart, who previously supported Louis Tomlinson, at Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge on 10 November 2026.
