A Birmingham Bank Holiday Bonanza! Four Amazing Events to enjoy this August

Owlstock, Birmingham’s Woodstock-inspired festival, returns to The Night Owl on Sunday 27th August for its fourth instalment. With live performances from tribute acts and local favourites, DJs spinning the best sounds from the iconic festival, street food and stalls, it’s set to be the biggest Owlstock yet!

This year’s amazing line-up includes Are You Experienced?; the UK’s top Hendrix tribute, 60s surf rockers Palooka 5, psych band The Crystal Teardrop and The Marrakesh Express; who will be recreating the sounds of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Opening up the show we have acoustic performances from Joe Cartwright and Samuel Rogers & Taylor Reid. Plus DJs Callum Gallagher (Freakout), Alex Mason (Disques Verite), Richard Bamber & Lee Grimshaw will be on the decks til late playing iconic 60s tunes. Get tickets now through Ticketsellers.

The Button Factory – Mardi Gras Party (Summer In The City)

Over in the JQ, The Button Factory is hosting a mardi gras party on Saturday 26th August, with live New Orleans Brass from Headrush Brass Band. They’re serving up themed cocktails, with DJs playing New Orleans funk all night long.

Expect Louisiana Po Boys, shrimp & potatoes, pickle backs, and other mouth-watering mardi gras eats.

The Old Crown – The Official Pairc Festival Afterparties

Birmingham’s oldest pub, The Old Crown, is celebrating its Irish roots in partnership with Pairc Festival 2023 on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th August. Expect Guinness on tap, amazing live music performances from Pairc acts All Folk’d Up, Ceol, a very special MYSTERY GUEST on Sunday and of course plenty of craic. From 10:30pm, they’re partying til late in the night, in Birmingham’s biggest celebration of Irish culture and music since St. Patrick’s Day.

The Durham Ox – Shrewley Food Festival

Shrewley Food Festival returns to beloved Warwickshire pub The Durham Ox this bank holiday Monday, including local favourites Le Petit Bois, South Birmingham Curry Club, Chatty Patty and more amazing street food eats. Pets are welcome, and there’s a Kids’ Pirate Show for the little ones to enjoy. Free entry with a ticket, make sure to reserve yours through Eventbrite.

The Button Factory – Latin Summer Party

Sunset Latino, the yard party, is coming to Birmingham on August 27th. Get ready to have fun with live music , DJs & delicious Latin street food. Expect a mix of Reggaeton, Latin Pop, Latin Trap, Baile Funk, Dembow, Bachata and more.
