Asha’s launches brand-new Indian street food concept at Society Birmingham

Independent food and drink destination, Society, is welcoming one of Birmingham’s most celebrated restaurants as Asha’s joins its line-up of traders next month – launching a brand new concept, Asha’s Indian Street Food. Renowned for its refined approach to Indian cuisine, Asha’s new street food concept will bring its famous bold flavours, rich heritage and authentic quality to Society in a more relaxed, informal setting. Asha’s Indian Street Food will officially open its doors on Monday 16th March.

Inspired by the bustling streets of India, Asha’s Indian Street Food will be a vibrant new offering. Menu highlights include chicken paratha rolls and chilli paneer rolls (a choice of juicy chicken or crispy chilli paneer wrapped in a warm paratha), Delhi Samosa Chaat’s (crushed samosas topped with chickpeas, yoghurt, chutneys and spices) and vegetable aloo tikki chaat (golden potato patties layered with tangy chutneys and yogurt. All dishes have been designed for a relaxed, street-food-style dining experience while staying true to the brand’s roots.

After opening in Birmingham in 2006, Asha’s has become a household name in the city’s dining scene for 20 years, and is celebrated for its premium ingredients, expertly balanced spices, elegant takes on classic Indian dishes…. as well as a fanbase of global megastars. Its arrival at Society marks an exciting new chapter, bringing one of the city’s most beloved restaurants into the city’s most exciting independent food and drink destination with a concept created specifically for the setting.

Asha’s will join Society Birmingham’s diverse mix of independent food and drink brands, offering guests an even bigger mix of global cuisine under one roof.

Bobby Bassi, Director at Asha’s, said:

“At Asha’s we’ve always loved to be at the forefront of the city’s dining community and with this in mind we can’t wait to pitch up at Society Birmingham and bring our brand new Indian street food concept to life. We’re excited to share our love of Indian cuisine in a more informal, social setting and to introduce our dishes to both loyal fans and new guests alike.”

Nick Gregory, Founder at Society Birmingham, added:

“Asha’s is an iconic Birmingham brand, and we’re incredibly proud to be welcoming them into Society. Their reputation speaks for itself, and we know our guests are going to love seeing such a well-respected local restaurant join our community of independent traders. The fact that they’re launching a completely new concept, which shares the same relaxed and social feel that defines Society, makes it even more exciting for us. We’re passionate about bringing the best and most diverse cuisine and street food to the people and Asha’s Indian Street Food’s arrival really embodies this.”

Having opened its doors at One Colmore Square in September, Society Birmingham is now a firm fixture on the city’s independent  food and drink map. Society’s big and bountiful bar also serves an expertly crafted mix of quality cocktails and a cracking wine list.
