BBQ Is Back On The Menu In Castle Bromwich….

Saddle up folks, it’s the news we have all been waiting for. BBQ is firmly back on the menu as Hickory’s Smokehouse finally re-opens its doors on Friday 7th August…

They have waited a little longer than most but everyone’s favourite smokehouse and star of the Castle Bromwich dining scene Hickory’s, have fired up the smokers and are back doing what they do best- serving up the finest mix of authentic BBQ this side of the Mississippi!

The popular neighbourhood bar and restaurant have picked a great week to throw open their doors again as their re-opening means guests will also be able to benefit from the Chancellor’s innovative Eat Out To Help Out Scheme. Bosses say the whole team are raring to go after what they have dubbed their ‘extended Spring break’.

‘We really are ecstatic to be finally opening up again,’ said general manager Jeff Phillips-Hammond.

We know so many of our guests can’t wait to visit us and we’ve been totally overwhelmed with the number of bookings we’ve had since we started to take bookings online last week. We may have taken a little longer to open than some other places but we are sure it will be worth the wait.

The Perfect Spot for Some Summer Fun

Famed for its gorgeous sunny garden and cool covered veranda, the team are hoping that guests will take advantage of the generous outdoor space and make the Hickory’s a garden a real hub over the summer months and beyond.

The south facing garden and Southern ‘porch’ style terrace area have all been spruced to perfection and the guys have added plenty of additional seating too, making Hickory’s the place to be for a relaxed family meal, summer evening drink or get-together with friends.

‘There has always been a lot of love for our garden and I think now, more than ever, it will be a really cool place to spend a few hours over the summer months,’ commented Jeff. ‘We’ve already got some exciting plans in place as we head into the autumn and we are looking at some cool ideas to keep the outdoor vibe alive, whatever the season.’

The team have been working hard behind the scenes too, ‘All the guys have been freshening up their serving skills and familiarising themselves with our new safety measures. They cannot wait to get back to smoking, mixing, shaking and serving your Hickory’s favourites and we can’t wait to welcome you back.’

50% 0ff Your Hicks Fix!

And for any of you who have been missing your Hicks fix, you will find all your favourite BBQ dishes will be back on the menu. Rest assured the smokehouse classics such as Texas style brisket, ribs and wings will all be making an appearance, along with burnt ends, southern fried chicken & of course the Chicken Fried Waffle.

Every Monday to Wednesday guests can also take advantage of the national Eat Out To Help Out Scheme and enjoy 50% off food and soft drinks (up to £10 pp) across the whole day. It’s available all day, every day from 11am (lunch and dinner). Booking is highly advisable although the guys say they will try and accommodate as many walk-ins as possible.

Making Hickory’s as safe a place as possible

There have also been some cool new changes and innovative additions indoors too with an emphasis on ensuring guests can return safely, without losing any of the much-loved Hickory’s experience.

With their own unique guest ‘Safety Pledge’ in place, the team are ready to get back to business and do what they do best, looking after guests and offering some true Southern hospitality.

It’s been a hard time for the hospitality industry and a very uncertain period for everyone involved. Founder Neil McDonnell extended his thanks to everyone who has reached out to the team in the West Midlands. ‘We’ve had so much support from our regulars, guests and the local community and that is what has kept us going throughout lockdown. It’s been a devastating time for our industry but all the messages, emails and social media posts we’ve had have been incredibly humbling and so heart-warming for the whole team. We can’t wait to get back to doing what we love, showing our guests some real Southern hospitality, albeit with a few less handshakes.”

They are taking bookings now and the restaurant officially re-opens Friday 7th August and will be open from 11am every day. Keep your eyes on their website and social media channels for any updates.
