After a quiet start to 2026 Fallen Horse were back with a slot at the Tin Tent Festival at the Rock & Roll Brewhouse in July and are set to play both Birmingham and Stourbridge in September.

The Band:
Fallen Horse is a Birmingham-based alternative ensemble weaving an atmospheric soundscape that bridges the gap between gritty Americana and haunting Scandi-noire. The band’s creative core traces back to the early 2000s, when principal songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Toni Woodward first began composing and performing alongside Andy Page in their previous outfit, Dark Hearts. That decades-long collaboration remains defining a captivating identity built on lyrical depth and moody, desert-like arrangements.
Having performed and recorded in various configurations over the years, Fallen Horse has evolved into its definitive form as a powerhouse five-piece band. For the last couple of years, the sonic landscape has been elevated by the sensitive guitar playing of Andrew Wilson, from Spincycle. More recently, the rhythm section has been solidified by the addition of bass player Evan Wilson and drummer Chris Richardson. This richer line-up amplifies their cinematic storytelling, drawing deep inspiration from the poetic intensity of PJ Harvey whilst their style incorporates the intricate textures of folk artists such as Smoke Fairies and Tindersticks.
Fallen Horse has become a staple of the Birmingham independent music scene through compelling live performances at grassroots hubs like the Rock and Roll Brewhouse and Moseley’s Dark Horse. The five-piece offers a uniquely immersive, introspective experience for city folk craving a shot of dark musical escapism.
Last month Fallen Horse had their debut radio play of track Centred on the Coughing Pigeon Show on Brum Radio.
After playing at venues such as the Rock and Roll Brewhouse and The Dark Horse in Birmingham, Claptrap in Stourbridge and the Firefly in Telford, supporting Black Doldrums they are looking for more live gigs and heading into the studio to record in October 2026…
