On Thursday, 1st May, Nylah’s Naturals celebrated the launch of its groundbreaking textured hair loss range with a lively, star-studded event in the heart of London. In a powerful moment of solidarity, a group of Black influencers tossed their wigs into the air, marking a new chapter for the brand and a renewed commitment to holistic Black hair care. One that champions hair pride and transparency about hair loss.
“I went through my own struggle with central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA), at one point believing I’d have no choice but to wear a wig for the rest of my life,” said Kameese Davis, CEO and Founder of Nylah’s Naturals. “So, when I saw through my trichology scans that our treatment complex had helped to holt and reverse the progression of my alopecia, it changed my life. Today, I’m proud to share this breakthrough with Black women and men all around the world, offering them safer, effective options to manage their hair loss. The wig throw symbolises the beginning of a new era in Black hair care.”
Hair loss conditions like CCCA and traction alopecia remain under-researched, underfunded and under-addressed, disproportionately affecting Black communities. Beyond the physical impact, alopecia can take a significant toll on mental health, often leaving individuals forced into a lifetime of wig-wearing.
Nylah’s Naturals London event drew key figures from the Black hair care space, including: Chizzy Akudolu, Diane Parish (Eastenders), Brenda Edwards, Dame Kelly Holmes. During the event, Kameese Davis, hair transplant surgeon Dr. Eleojo Achimugu, Trichologist Shirley McDonalds, and Dietitian Jasmin Carbon hosted educational workshops on Black hair loss, introducing guests to new products and the latest treatment approaches.
“Hair loss is more common than you might think, affecting both women and men, often leading to distress and anxiety. Unfortunately, its psychological effects are frequently overlooked. Many individuals remain unsure of where to seek help or may hesitate to do so early on, perceiving hair loss as merely a cosmetic issue and fearing they might come off as vain. In fact, hair loss is a symptom and may be a sign of an underlying issue.
A common initial tendency or instinctive reaction to hair loss is to attempt to hide it, camouflage hair loss, or simply dismiss it… Unaware of the myriad of potential underlying contributors, many of which can be corrected if identified early. This is especially the case with women, where our feminine identity and sense of health and wellbeing is wrapped in societal depictions of acceptable beauty and health. However, this silent struggle doesn’t have to be the norm. Addressing hair loss early can significantly improve outcomes and minimise emotional turmoil with its sequelae.
I truly believe that a holistic approach, like the one offered by Nylahs Naturals, can be a game changer. By identifying and addressing issues early on, we can target reversible factors and help prevent further deterioration and distress.”

“Healthy hair starts from within, and good nutrition is a key foundation. Nutrients like iron, protein, biotin, and omega-3s play a vital role in maintaining strong, vibrant hair—but for many people, especially in diverse communities, these nutrients can be lacking in everyday diets. That’s where targeted supplements can make a real difference.
Nylah’s Day and Night Time Beauty Capsules are thoughtfully formulated to help bridge these gaps. As well as exceeding biotin and Vitamin D3 requirements, the Day capsule contains iron and a host of other functional micronutrients. The Day capsule also features Algae Oil Powder, a rich plant-based source of DHA omega-3, which nourishes the scalp and helps reduce inflammation, creating the ideal environment for healthy hair growth. Meanwhile, the Night capsule not only provides key amino acids to support hair growth, it also contains Resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant that protects hair follicles from environmental stress and supports overall hair health while the body rests and repairs. This is along with a host of other key raw ingredients.”
