The Charity, which launched in the UK in 2012, has already raised more the £25million to create more effective treatments to patients suffering from the illness, by using fund translational research. The money raised by the public allows the charity to speed up the pace of the research which in turn enables patients to receive the treatment more quickly and hopefully save their lives.

Fundraising campaigns have been taking place all across the UK, which has been supported by a number of well-known celebrities, including Davina McCall and Alan Carr.

Afif Akhtar, manager of Cucina Rustica said,

We hope to raise around £2000 from our fundraising activity at Cucina Rustica, and I’m hopeful, that with our customers help, we will reach this amount.

Cancer is such an awful illness, so if we can help to contribute towards the research and raise as much money as possible, which could eventually save people’s lives, that is something we are definitely willing to do.
