Birmingham’s Oldest Pub The Old Crown To Show Wimbledon Live On The Big Screen This July

The Old Crown also takes home Traditional Pub of the Year at the 2019 Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards

The Old Crown’s outdoor screen will be back in action this July, as tennis fans will able to flock to the traditional Digbeth pub to watch Wimbledon in the city’s best beer garden.

Taking place between July 1st – 14th, all the Wimbledon action will be live on the historic pub’s outdoor screen – and entry is completely free.

Based in Deritend, The Old Crown is Birmingham’s oldest inn, boasting a 650-year history and grade II listed status. The grand pub has stood the test of time since 1368 and is the city’s oldest secular building.

Tennis fans will be able to catch comprehensive coverage of the renowned tournament live from the All England Club, from the early stages all the way through to the men’s and women’s quarter finals, semi finals and finals.

The Old Crown, proud winners of the ‘Traditional Pub of the Year’ award at this year’s Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards, will be enhancing their already impressive offering with the traditional tennis tipple Pimm’s and the quintessentially British strawberries by the punnet for those wishing to get in the Wimbledon spirit.

Wimbledon Live on the Big Screen is part of The Old Crown’s 12 Weeks of Summer event schedule, featuring something for everyone, from an Elton John themed party to a Friends quiz and Poolside Strut, a brand new disco all-dayer.
