British Soldier and Devoted Family Man’s Dual Burpees World Record Attempt

Serving British Soldier and Devoted Family Man’s Dual Burpees World Record Attempt at Alexander Stadium on Friday 3rd November to Fundraise for Parenting Mental Health Charity

Tristan Willis, serving British soldier, devoted family man and dad, is taking on two monumental world record breaking burpee broad jump challenges, in support of Parenting Mental Health at the Alexander Stadium on Friday 3rd November.

Starting at 8.30am,  Tristan will take on the challenge of the fastest mile of burpee broad jumps ever and then go onto attempt the longest distance of burpee broad jumps ever to be recorded.

Commenting on the gruelling challenge, Tristan said: “I’m estimating it’s going to take somewhere between 5 to 6 hours to complete but I’m ready to test my body, my mind and raise awareness for Parenting Mental Health – a charity very close to my heart which supports parents and families with a child with a mental health issue.  My sister’s neurological disorder has seen some very difficult times for my parents, myself and of course my sister, but Parenting Mental Health has been there every step of the way in supporting us and thousands of other families. I’m excited to raise some awareness of this invaluable community and family resource, raise some money and to get started – the countdown is on!

Mum of Tristan, Kim Willis said: “We are so proud of Tristan and what he is doing to raise awareness for Parenting Mental Health and hope that as a result other families in need will find out about this invaluable charity. Parenting Mental Health have helped us in so many ways including funding aids such as an alarm and wheelchair along with counselling. Without Parenting Mental Health I wouldn’t have got through the last five years – I’ve attended a self esteem programme and made life long friends in the community with people that understand what it’s like to have a child who has suicidal thoughts, that stems from feeling like they don’t fit into this world.”

Suzanne Alderson, founder of Parenting Mental Health, added: “What Tristan is taking on is just amazing – I think most people would struggle to do just five of these burpees, myself included! Tristan is not only a fantastic fundraiser, but also brilliant at raising awareness for our Charity and our work. We’re so grateful for everything he’s done and can’t wait to cheer Tristan on from the side lines on the day!”

Since announcing the challenge, Tristan has been posting motivational updates to Instagram, providing additional details such as the technique he will be using during the challenge, and the movement standard required for each individual burpee broad jump.
