British Youth Music Theatre is coming to Birmingham this month to find the next generation of musical theatre talent

British Youth Music Theatre, the UK’s leading youth-focused musical theatre company, are holding auditions at Midland Arts Centre in Birmingham to give the best local talent an opportunity to take to the stage in their 2022 season of musicals.

With alumni such as international stars Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, as well as West End performers such as Grace Mouat (SIX, & Juliet), Bradley Jaden (Les Miserables) and Christopher Tendai (Hamilton), BYMT has an impressive track record of developing talent to go into creative industries.

BYMT’s exciting programme for 2022 will consist of 2 full musical theatre productions for the Easter Season and 6 new musical theatre shows for the Summer Season, created by acclaimed professional creative teams and performed at the most prestigious venues across the UK. BYMT encourages students of all backgrounds and experience levels to audition.

Each audition is a 3-hour group creative workshop led by top theatre professionals. Young people are marked on their acting, singing, dancing as well as their ability to work as part of a team. Each auditionee is carefully observed and graded by top industry professionals, who will see over 1000 potentials resulting in 300 young people being invited into the BYMT Company. If successful in their audition, company members will work alongside the industry’s best directors, musical directors, and choreographers to build a new musical show from the ground up.

Auditions take place at MAC (Midland Arts Centre) on 30th January.  Each audition costs £45 and can be booked online at https://britishyouthmusictheatre.org/auditions or via phone 020 8563 7725. BYMT is able to offer the special audition rate of £15 to those in receipt of Pupil Premium (free school meals) through promo code FSM22.
