The city-wide beer trail is back, taking over Birmingham’s finest beer-loving venues
Tuesday 5th – Saturday 9th August 2025
Brum Brew Fest is back in Birmingham between 5th and 9th August 2025. Now in its fourth year, the festival is a celebration of the city’s diverse independent beer scene and is designed to encourage participants to discover new indie venues across multiple neighbourhoods. Brum Brew Fest brings together over 35 of the city’s best independent pubs, bars and taprooms, presenting participants with an enticing trail guide from which they can curate five days of beer-fuelled exploration and discovery. Participation in the festival is free, with no tickets necessary – beer lovers are invited to collect a free Brum Brew Fest trail guide from any participating venue and to explore at their leisure, with the first 600 people to collect five venue stamps will get a sought-after festival pin badge.
This year’s festival spans Stirchley, Kings Heath, Moseley, Harborne, Bearwood, the City Centre, Digbeth and the Jewellery Quarter. Brum Brew Fest’s 2025 trail guide features over 35 venues, including traditional pubs and taprooms, self-serve bars and sun traps, beer gardens and breweries, plus plenty of places to fuel up for more fun, with a plethora of dining options along the trail. Participants can pick up a specially curated trail guide from any of the participating venues from 5th – 9th August and make their own route around the city. At each venue guests can collect a stamp with any drinks purchase (beer is the focus, but all drinks count, including softs!). The first 600 participants to collect 5 venue stamps can race over to one of the 3 badge collection venues (Attic Brew Co. Taproom, Cherry Reds, The Wolf) to pick up a limited-edition (much-coveted) festival pin badge designed in collaboration with Punks & Chancers.
Established in 2022 by local beer aficionado Catherine Webber (Founder of female-led meet-up Brum Beer Babs), Brum Brew Fest has quickly become a highlight of Birmingham’s cultural calendar. Following a challenging few years for independent venues in the city, Brum Brew Fest has provided much-needed celebration of the city’s world-class beer scene. This year the festival takes place in August to coincide with The Great British Beer Festival (GBBF), which is taking over Birmingham’s NEC over the same dates. The city expects to welcome thousands of visitors for GBBF, with Brum Brew Fest offering a great opportunity to showcase the city’s vibrant independent beer scene to those from near and far.
The full list of participating venues for 2025’s Brum Brew Fest includes: Glasshouse, Birmingham Brewery, Cork & Cage, Attic Brew Co.
