Jazz Central Festival 2024 @ 1000 Trades

Jazz Central is a mentoring programme, pairing six international jazz stars with six emerging stars (all Birmingham based). The scheme is run and managed by Jazz Midlands with Arts Council England financial support. Jazz Midlands with Birmingham Jazz have been running the first mentoring scheme for Birmingham based emerging talent, with this festival plus five gigs around the Jazz Midlands Network – showcasing the collaborations.  Each of the developing players have been matched with their chosen national star; to enhance their development.  This three day festival celebrates these mentoring sessions with a live gig that include the Star Mentor.
