Can Jack Grealish & Manchester City Make History?

Manchester City are hunting down a special European and domestic treble this season. Pep Guardiola’s side have won the Premier League and have FA Cup and UEFA Champions League finals to look forward to. Jack Grealish has played a big part in Man City’s success this season.

City Edge Out Arsenal in the Title Race

Man City retained their Premier League title after Nottingham Forest beat Arsenal at the City Ground. City celebrated their title victory with a 1-0 home win over Chelsea the following day. Man City had to chase down the Gunners, but Guardiola’s superstars were frontrunners in the Premier League outright odds market in the latter stages of the championship battle. Man City are priced at just 1/2 to pull off the treble.

Arsenal put up a brave fight, but Man City’s stunning run of form from February onwards was just too hot to handle for the London side. City’s victory over Chelsea was their 12th Premier League triumph in a row.

The Manchester giants have dominated the Premier League in recent times, winning five of the last six Premier League campaigns. Liverpool have pushed them close on a couple of occasions, and the Reds are the only other team to have won the Premier League title since Chelsea prevailed in 2017.

Grealish Finding His Feet

After a tough first year at the Etihad Stadium, Birmingham-born Grealish has found his feet and is starting to live up to the £100 million price tag. The England international took time to settle in, but he has been one of City’s most consistent players this season.

Grealish made the tough decision to leave his beloved Aston Villa for Man City to win trophies. He was a Premier League champion in his first year in Manchester, and he picked up another Premier League winners’ medal this term.

Grealish was a runner-up in both domestic cup competitions whilst a Villa player. He will be desperate to lift the FA Cup trophy when Man City take on fierce rivals Manchester United in the 2023 FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in June.

Can Man City Finally Win the Champions League?

The one trophy that has eluded Man City in recent years is the Champions League. The Manchester giants are often favourites to win the tournament, but they have never quite lived up to the billing in UEFA’s elite club competition.

However, the Citizens look destined to win the Champions League this year. They beat current holders Real Madrid in the semi-finals. After a hard-fought 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu, City ran riot at the Etihad Stadium. The brilliant Bernardo Silva netted a brace to help City to a resounding 4-0 win in the second leg.

Guardiola’s men will now face Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Istanbul. Man City is hoping to become the first team since Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man United in 1999 to win the FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League in the same season. Grealish and his Man City teammates are now ready to make history in 2023.
