Celebrity speakers and outdoor experts to lead talks at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show

Household names Julia Bradbury, Paul Merton and Suki Webster, Aldo Kane and Hamza Yassin will lead talks at the February Show’s Inspiration Theatre 

The Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show will return to the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham from 21-26 February 2023, kicking off the year with the UK’s largest start of season display of Leisure Vehicles, camping essentials and a star-studded line-up of celebrity speakers including Channel 5’s Motorhoming with Merton & Webster, Paul Merton and Suki Webster.

Along with checking out new-for-2023 campervans, caravans and motorhomes and exploring the Show’s brand new dedicated Tent and Camping Hall, visitors can look forward to hearing inspiring stories from leaders in the world of outdoor adventurers. Featuring talks from some of the UK’s biggest nature-loving personalities, the much-loved Inspiration Theatre will see familiar faces Hamza Yassin and Aldo Kane share stories of life behind the lens and road trips as well as provide top tips on where to go and what to expect from a life on the road.  

Camping and Caravanning Club President, Julia Bradbury will be opening the Show on Tuesday 21 February talking about her love of the great outdoors and highlights of the Club’s Outjoyment Report – as study into the well-being and mental health benefits of camping in the great outdoors.

From exploring the Black Forest and Romantic Roads of Southern Germany to an introduction to wild swimming and the best spots for a quick dip, the Inspiration Theatre has it all. Introducing guest speakers to the stage and hosting interviews with some of the country’s favourite celebrity speakers will be eco-journalist and publisher, Sarah Roberts. Roberts will introduce sessions throughout the event with names including Julia Bradbury, Paul Merton and Suki Webster, Hamza Yassin, Aldo Kane, Marcus Leach, Lola Culson, Lee Davey, Caroline Mills, Kat Bird, Martin Dorey, Alex Morgan and Susanne Elsworth and more taking to the stage.  

Usually appearing on screen in their Channel 5 series Motorhoming with Merton & Webster, motorhome converts Paul Merton and Suki Webster will regale audiences on Friday 24 with tales of their new found love of ‘vanlife’, along with some of their favourite experiences and top-tips for newbies.

No stranger to the great outdoors is none other than Hamza Yassin. The wildlife cameraman and much-loved presenter will be joining Sarah Roberts on Wednesday 22 February on stage for an interview about his life behind the lens and the ultimate places across the UK to nature watch. 

TV presenter, Aldo Kane, will be at the Show on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 24 where he will share stories from his recent motorhome tour of the USA. The former Royal Marines Commando Sniper will also delve deeper into some of his more dangerous assignments, making this an unmissable talk for any keen adventurer. 

 Other speakers to watch out for at the Show:

From the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains to the enchanting bazaars of Marrakech and the myriad hiking routes in the Rif Mountains, Marcus Leach will be sharing his own first-hand experiences and stories from his time exploring the magic of Morocco. Author and wild swimmer, Lola Culsan, will also be speaking daily at the Inspiration Theatre, where she will talk about her time touring ‘Spain’s best kept secret’, Galicia. A popular destination amongst campers, cyclists and nature lovers, Culson explored Galicia for her books, Wild Swimming in Spain and Hidden Beaches Spain.

Crossing continents, visitors can hear from Lee Davey and his journey from the UK to Asia whilst Caroline Mills talks about a five-day camping road trip around Northern Ireland, exploring famous and lesser-known landmarks and properties managed by The National Trust. If castles, forests and incredible scenery are on the bucket list, catch Wandering Bird (Kat Bird) at the Inspiration Theatre. From tobogganing in the Black Forest and visiting the castle which inspired Walt Disney, Wandering Birds will share her road-trip-tips from Southern Germany. 

On Tuesday 21, writer, campervanner and environmental activist, Martin Dorey, will be talking about taking the slow road, covering the fun he’s had writing his latest book. Which is guide for campervanners and motorhomes to the best road trips in Spain and Portugal. Taking audiences on a wild ride to see Portugal’s ‘Route 66’ to the giant waves of Nazare, Martin’s talk will have visitors reaching for their passports and ready to go. Over the weekend, backpacker Alex Morgan and ‘car camper’ Suzanne Elsworth will share their top tips on how to improve the camping experience along with some cost effective hacks and little luxuries. 

The Caravan and Motorhome Club will host a celeb-filled schedule of talks from Caravan and Motorhome Club members including TV presenter and campervanner Matt Allwright, former British tennis champion and campervanner, Anabel Croft, TV presenter, author and campervanner Martin Dorey MBE and star of Great British Bake Off and caravanner Karen Wright. They will be sharing their adventures on the Club’s stand 2000 and visitors can catch them on Club Day Tuesday 21 February.

Also bringing inspiration to its members is the Caravan and Camping Club. Expect to hear stories from Tori James – the first Welsh woman to climb Everest at the age of 25 on Wednesday, explorer and TV presenter Andy Torbet on Saturday as well TV presenter Julia Bradbury who will open the show on Tuesday.
