Come Sunday is Birmingham’s first Jazz Vinyl Listening session.
Inspired by the Japanese Jazz Kissa, a post-war phenomenon,where because records were scarce and expensive , Jazz fans would go to bars to hear the latest releases from America.
Residents Jason Wynters and Nick Schlittner will be digging deep to bring you some fantastic music from across the Jazz spectrum with special guests every month.
Our first guest is Mike “J-Jazz” Peden aka @bacoso a collector and DJ since the 80s.
Mike is the man behind the Japaneses Jazz reissue programme at BBE Records where he has unearthed some rare jazz, soul and fusion gems for new audiences.
He will be playing some.of his finest finds from his trips to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
