Live It Up presents – Small Fakers – Saturday 7th June
Things are kicking things off on the 7th of June with our 60s night ‘Live It Up’, presenting the legendary Small Fakers, the UK’s only tribute to the sensational Small Faces.
Owlstock Presents: Summer Solstice – Saturday 21st June
On the longest day of the year, and the official start of the summer season, The Night Owl is hosting a summer solstice celebration of “peace and music” with some of Brum’s finest hippies, Kosmic Pearl (a tribute to Janis Joplin), Genevieve Miles & Giant Elf Fist! Throughout the day, there will be themed cocktails, delicious street food and classic Night Owl vibes.
Brian Lightning: Class of 2025 – Friday 27th June
Brain Lighting is taking you all to prom! On the 27th of June, Brain Lightning is throwing a prom-themed party, with all the typical Mr Lightning antics from eccentric fashion to magic tricks. This prom may be for the Class of 2025, but the theme is 60s and 70s, so dig out your finest dresses and suits because the best dressed will be crowned prom royalty!
Landslide (A tribute to Fleetwood Mac) – Saturday 28th June
The Night Owl will be welcoming back the incredible Landslide to play tribute to the band we all know and love. From ‘The Chain’ to ‘Black Magic Woman’, come and hear all your favourite Fleetwood Mac bangers.
Northern Soul All-Dayer – Saturday 5th July
The Northern Soul all-dayer is BACK! 10 years ago The Night Owl opened its doors as a northern soul club, and yes, they have broadened their horizons and have so much fun doing it, but they didn’t get a sprung, wooden dance floor for nothing! Wigan Casino original Northern Soul DJ Russ Winstanley will be joining resident Night Owl’s Sonny & Spare and Sammy Dee who will be spinning the best Northern Soul records all day long!
The Reggae Cookout with Lloyd McGrath Collective – Sunday 6th July
The Lloyd McGrath collective will be joining them for one of their classic Sunday afternoon parties. They’ll be bringing the two-tone vibes from the two-tone homeland of Coventry! A mix of original music and two-tone classics, this is not one to be missed! Rum punch, jerk chicken and live music, plus DJ Milo and DONTCALLMESKAFACE spinning the best reggae tunes all afternoon.
Chicks Dig Jerks Present: Guitar Wolf – Thursday 10th July
It doesn’t get much bigger on the garage punk and rock n roll scene than Japan’s Guitar Wolf, Birmingham’s own Black Mekon, and Kentucky’s All-Seeing-Eyes. These 3 behemoths of cool are coming down to The Night Owl to rock your socks off! With Mazzy Snape & Old Bort on the decks, book the next day off work and get ready to party to fuzzy guitars and classic dirty rockin’ vibes!
Back of the Bar Presents: Headshrinkers, Retail Store & Fester – Friday 11th July
Back of The Bar are throwing a post-punk party with Black Country rockers Headshrinkers, Brummie rock ‘n rollers Retail Store and Grunge Americana band Fester. Plus a DJ set from Not So Rock Show’s Pete Donnelly.
Free entry live music on the 11th of July, you’re going to want to be there, it’s going to be MASSIVE!
Rip It Up Presents MFC Chicken – Thursday 17th July
RIP IT UP! present MFC Chicken with support from GoGo Loco, rock ‘n roll ICONS! MFC Chicken are a band that plays the real rock & roll with the saxophone, singin’ about fast food & broken hearts, and GoGo Loco are a maraca-shaking rock and rolling duo, bringing silly lyrics and explosive garage rock guitar.
The Night Owl 10th Birthday Big Shindig – Saturday 26th July
To see off all the celebrations, The Night Owl are hosting the party to end all parties, The Big Birthday Shindig!
On the 26th of July, it’s going to be one massive birthday carnival! There is live music from the Heavy Beat Brass Band, The Trouble and a DJ and a live bongo set from Big Boss Man. Of course, plenty of your favourite Night Owl DJs will be joining with party faves like David Bowie, Blondie and Stevie Nicks and so much more! They will be transforming the venue into one big birthday party with decorations, cocktails and all the party tunes.
Expect live blasting brass from Heavy Beat Brass Band and 60s Garage, Psych & Rock ‘n’ Roll from The Trouble and a wild DJ & Bongo set from Big Boss Man alongside our resident Night Owl DJs. The Night Owl would love to see some of our fabulous regulars here to get the party started. Whether you’re a Night Owl veteran and remember the opening night, or a newbie who found the club this year, this party is for everyone who loves The Night Owl as much as they do!
