The Old Crown in Digbeth is getting ready to hold it’s third Oktoberfest on the 29th and 30th Sept and 6th and 7th October. Tickets available at bit.ly/digbethoktoberfest2017
Over two weekends The Old Crown’s beer garden will be transformed into a heated Bavarian beer hall with traditional décor, bench seating and table service for up to 350 guests per night.
The event has been a great success in previous years and is organized by the loving The Old Crown and Birmingham’s seasonal markets.
There will be a wide selection of drinks on offer at this years Oktoberfest from German larger, German Gin, German wine and an Oktoberfest themed cocktails bar. This year our draft beer will be from have German ABK brewery. The brewery dates back over 700 years and continues to use the same locally grown Hallertau hops and grains from the same local farms in Bavaria.
New to this years Digbeth Oktoberfest we will be working with local street food legends Original Patty Men (29th and 30th Sep), Baked in Brick (6th and 7th Oct) and The Bournville Waffle Company (all dates). Each trader will offer a German twist to their menu, expect Bavarian burgers, BBQ sausage with masala sauce and apple strudel waffles.
Through out the evening there will be a full line up of entertainment from DJs, live bands such as Boston Brass, a few traditional Oktoberfest games. We will also be holding a best dressed competition for those that wish to embrace all that is Oktoberfest and don the lederhosen for the night. If that’s not for you then just get your glad rags on and get ready to dance the night away standing on a bench, swinging your stein!
At Digbeth Oktoberfest this year we are going all out on the décor and will be transforming the marquee into a German beer hall complete with a wooden Bavarian lodge stage, meters and meters of draped fabric, hops garlands and bench seating.
Tickets cost £20 and are exchanged on the night for a stein for the evening. Inside each stein you will find your complementary drink voucher for 2 pints of the finest German beer. If you aren’t a beer drinker this can be exchanged for a German cocktail or a drink of your choosing. Each ticket has an allocated seat.
This will be a truly unique event whether you are coming alone or with a group of friends or part of an office party it will be an event not to be missed!!
