Birmingham engineering firm adi Group has raised £10,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity after staging one of its biggest ever five‑a‑side football tournaments – a high‑energy event that brought colleagues, partners and supporters together for a cause that runs deep across the business.
A total of 24 teams competed at Goals UK in Star City, Birmingham, including three adi squads and teams from Bowers Electricals Ltd and Rowland Door Services Ltd, helping to raise vital funds for the hospital’s work supporting children and young people across the region. After a competitive evening of fixtures, Total Power Group were crowned winners, with Gymshark finishing in second place.
Now a standout moment in adi’s fundraising calendar, the tournament has been running for the last few years and continues to grow in scale, support and impact.
Alan Lusty, Founder and Chairman of adi Group, said: “Seeing 24 teams come together for our huge football tournament was fantastic. The charity’s work means a great deal to people across adi, and we’re incredibly proud to have raised £10,000 through this year’s competition. Thank you to every player and spectator who helped make the day such a success.”
Headquartered in Kings Norton, adi Group operates nationwide, delivering engineering expertise across the UK. The business selected Birmingham Children’s Hospital as its Charity of the Year in 2023 and has since raised more than £258,000 for the cause.
Alongside fundraising, adi Group also supports the Hospital through its technical capabilities – most recently with a first-of-its-kind AI-powered occupancy system installed by adi Intelligent Buildings. The technology, fitted within the hospital’s emergency operating theatre, automatically recognises when the space is in surgical use and when it can safely reduce unnecessary energy consumption, improving environmental control while supporting smarter, more sustainable operation.
