Final additions to MOSELEY FOLK 2025: Mrs Barbara Nice, Circus Raj +more

Two of the latest editions to the Moseley Folk & Arts Festival 2025 programme – Brum comedy legend Mrs Barbara Nice and Circus Raj.

With just three weeks to go, Moseley Folk and Arts Festival 2025 have revealed their final programme additions for this August’s festival.

The popular annual event runs from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August 2025 at Moseley Park, Birmingham, with newly announced activities ranging from daily weaving, spinning, woodworking and graffiti workshops, to an appearance from Circus Raj. Rajasthan’s elite street circus troupe, their cast of skilled acrobats, musicians, slack-rope walkers, dancers and puppeteers present an entertaining fast-moving extravaganza throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Much-loved comedian-turned-cupid Mrs Barbara Nice also premieres her unique take on Blind Date on Saturday as two festival-goers set out to find true love without the aid of a dating app, while Sunday sees Selly Oak’s Black Adder Morris dancing up a storm.

Also on-site for the festival’s final day is BBC 6Music presenter Chris Hawkins, who’ll be chatting to Doves at Speaker’s Corner prior to the chart-topping band’s much anticipated evening headline spot.

For that retail fix, a range of independent traders will be encamped in The Woods area for the duration of the festival, including W;EAR By Woo, famed for their ‘up-cycled’ and redesigned Disco Jumper sweatshirts, and Caribbean and British cake-maker Charmain’s Kitchen. There’s also vintage clothes, art prints, jewellery and more, with a suitably chilled and eclectic soundtrack supplied by a rotation of leading local DJs.

For younger festival-goers, renowned storyteller Mark Fraser recounts a series of engaging adventures, including exciting takes on familiar classics, while Dead Pixels retro gaming caravan revives such ’80s/’90s console classics as Pacman, Sonic The Hedgehog, Metroid and Mario. Play specialists Fox Cubs Nature Play are also on-site with a range of hands-on activities sure to inspire.

The Moseley Folk’s now firmly established late-afternoon Procession is also back on Sunday. Featuring an array of fantastic woodland creatures and masked characters, the colourful cavalcade will wind its way across the festival site.

Situated in a lush hidden park not far from Birmingham city centre, Moseley Folk and Arts Festival has been a regular fixture on the UK’s festival calendar since 2005.

Among the acts appearing this year are The Waterboys, Peter Doherty and The Lightning Seeds (Fri); Father John Misty, BC Camplight and This Is The Kit (Sat); and Doves, Mercury Rev, Fisherman’s Friends and Lisa O’Neill (Sun).

Moseley Folk and Arts Festival runs from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August 2025 at Moseley Park, Birmingham. For tickets (now limited) and more information, including the full line-up, visit: moseleyfolk.co.uk

ABOUT MOSELEY FOLK & ARTS FESTIVAL

Moseley Folk and Arts Festival is an annual family-friendly immersive event, exploring the very best of contemporary Folk, Arts and Crafts, which is held in Moseley Park – a stunning 11-acre woodland glade in the heart of Moseley Village.

Although the site is just two miles from the centre of Birmingham, it’s a world away from city life, and the perfect setting for a festival – with sloping grounds, creating a natural amphitheatre in front of a stunning lake.

Established in 2005, each year Moseley Folk and Arts Festival brings incredible artists, workshops, arts, crafts, and a selection of Birmingham’s most loved street food and drinks vendors to Moseley, for one epic weekend.

Previous headliners have included Dexys, Belle and Sebastian, Wilco, Laura Marling, Don Mclean, The Waterboys, The Monkees, The Jayhawks, Richard Thompson and Supergrass.
