Scores of people gathered for the opening of the new wagamama restaurant in Merry Hill on Monday (26th June) as demand grows for the popular pan Asian brand and its wholesome dishes. The grand opening saw hundreds of hungry guests, with katsu curry + yaki soba coming out on top as the most ordered dishes of the day.
Located in Merry Hill on the Upper Mall, the stylish new restaurant has been designed for 140 covers. Open seven days a week, the new restaurant will create 60 new jobs, bringing wagamama’s total to 158 restaurants across the UK.
As part of wagamama’s mission to spread positivity from bowl to soul, a philosophy rooted in the belief that food doesn’t just feed our bellies, but our souls too, the new Merry Hill restaurant served up crowd favourites, including rice bowls, noodles, curries and a menu which offers 50 per cent plant-based dishes.
wagamama Merry Hill opened with the brand’s new summer menu which includes fresh, soulful koyo bowls and the iconic vegan ‘chicken’ kare lomen. as well as several delicious new sides, such as crispy chilli mushrooms, refreshed wok-fried greens, asian peppers, prawn nori rolls, hirata steamed hoisin pulled duck buns and a refreshing tropical and power sorbet for dessert. Guests can try the new cocktails, served in stylish new glassware, include a sparkling sake, a pandan colada and a refreshing sake spritz, and a thai chilli margarita for those that love some heat in their cocktails.
