Fleetwood Mad commemorate Christine McVie’s Musical Legacy – 8 November

Fleetwood Mad play all of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits

to commemorate the late great Christine Perfect/Mc Vie’s musical legacy

Saturday 8 November @ King’s Heath Cricket & Sports Club

King’s Heath Walk Of Fame are delighted to present on Saturday 8 Novmber top tribute band Fleetwood Mad playing all of Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits to commemorate the late Christine Perfect/Mc Vie’s appearances at King’s Heath’s old Ritz Ballroom.

This special show will honour the musical legacy of the late Christine McVie (nee Perfect) who was invited to join Fleetwood Mac in 1970 after marrying John McVie the previous year. Brought up in Bearwood, she attended Moseley School of Art where she studied sculpture and met Stan Webb and Andy Sylvester and formed Sounds of Blue. On 16 October 1964 they performed at King’s Heath’s old Ritz Ballroom and shared the bill with The King Bees featuring Carl Palmer who later became one third of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. After the break up of Sounds Of Blue she joined Stan Webb in Chicken Shack who played their first ever gig at the Ritz Ballroom on Saturday 31 December 1966. They went on to have a hit with “I’d Rather Go Blind” featuring Christine on vocals. After marrying Fleetwood Mac’s John Mc Vie she left Chicken Shack as she did not wish to be touring separately from her husband. She was then invited to she join Fleetwood Mac, designed the front cover for their album “Kiln House” and wrote or co-wrote “Say You Love Me”, “Don’t Stop” “Everywhere” and “Little Lies”. Unfortunately, she died of a stroke in hospital on 30 November 2022 but her musical legacy lives on.

Fleetwood Mad are a sensational tribute band recreating an authentic Fleetwood Mac experience. Created out of a passion for Fleetwood Mac and their music, they have quickly secured their place as one of the “must see” Fleetwood Mac bands. With a huge flashback to the Peter Green era plus all of the later big hits from Rumours onwards (along with great visuals and costume changes of course) Fleetwood Mad will take the audience on a 2-hour theatrical journey exploring the magic of Fleetwood Mac.
