Award-winning Birmingham ramen restaurant Maneki Ramen will bring a taste of Tokyo to Selfridges Food Hall from 4–6th September, with complimentary small plates
A taste of Tokyo will arrive in the heart of Birmingham as Maneki Ramen brings its award-winning small plates to Selfridges, for an exclusive three-day pop-up.
Running from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th September, the partnership will see Maneki Ramen pop-up within Selfridges Food Hall, serving a selection of dishes from their Tokyo Tapas menu.
The menu was born following a recent trip to Barcelona, which saw Pete Dovaston, Head Chef and Owner of Maneki Ramen, and Mike Davies, Head Chef and Owner at Umami Plant collaborate on a six-course plant-based tasting menu. Inspired by the success of the collaboration, Maneki Ramen recently introduced a new small plates menu at its Jewellery Quarter restaurant and will be giving Selfridges shoppers the chance to taste 3 of the iconic dishes, plus a dessert option, for free.
Guests will be able to sample the following signature dishes free of charge:
- Smashed Cucumber: Smashed cucumber marinated with black vinegar, chilli, sesame and Sichuan pepper.
- Wakame Rice Crackers: House-made crispy rice crackers with wakame seaweed.
- Pineapple Kimchi: House-made pineapple and pear kimchi with ginger, garlic and gochugaru chilli.
- Miso Custard Tart with Yuzu Cream: Baked miso custard tart with yuzu cream, chocolate caramel and house-made buckwheat, sesame and wakame furikake.
In addition to the sample dishes, anyone who books a table at the pop-up will receive an exclusive 20% off code to use for their next dining experience.
The pop-up will be hosted by Pete Dovaston at Selfridges Birmingham’s Food Hall, located on Level 1 of the store.
Pop-up times:
Friday 4th September: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturday 5th September: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Sunday 6th September: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM
