A charged night of electronic emotion, alt rock grit and emerging artist fire hits The Victoria on Friday, 29th May, as Darius Zaltash and Puma Theory take on a co headline show, with special guest Kontours opening proceedings.
Bristol based British Iranian artist Darius Zaltash brings a dynamic fusion of electronic rock, heartfelt intensity and cathartic, dance ready energy. His sound sits somewhere between Linkin Park’s emotional punch and The 1975’s glossy vulnerability, creating a sound that’s bold, melodic and built to hit hard.
Writing with unfiltered honesty, Darius transforms difficult moments into songs that feel both powerful and deeply human. From soaring hooks to distorted electronics, his set promises a rush of emotion and movement in equal measure.
Reading’s Puma Theory offer a darker, more introspective counterpoint. With distorted guitars, confessional lyricism and themes rooted in anxiety, identity and inner turmoil, their music cuts straight to the bone while still delivering huge alt rock impact.
Their early singles, ‘Hit & Run’, ‘Sobering Lights’ and ‘Foolish Boy’, were crafted with producer Ian Davenport (Gaz Coombes, Demob Happy, Band of Skulls) after he discovered the band by chance at a hometown show. Recorded at Courtyard Studios in rural Oxfordshire, the tracks reflect the band’s intense, inward looking creative process.
Their latest release, ‘Hit & Run (Live at Farm Road Studios)’, captures the raw immediacy of their live sound and hints at the expanded body of work set to arrive in 2026. Expect atmosphere, weight and emotional honesty.
Opening the night is Coventry’s Kontours, bringing a gritty post punk edge and setting the tone for an evening built on bold sounds and rising talent.
A Friday night stacked with electronic force, alt rock depth and fresh new voices that’s unmissable for anyone who wants their live music loud, emotional and full of edge.
