With tickets now limited, Hot Chip are the latest big name addition to Birmingham’s Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival (Friday 10 to Sunday 12 July 2026), completing the festival’s main line-up.
One of Britain’s most beloved electronic acts, Hot Chip’s ability to mix the highest strobe-lit euphoria with the most reflective kind of headphones melancholy has earned them an international fanbase along with both Mercury Prize and Grammy award nominations. Their ability to combine indie with disco to create artful anything-goes genre mash-ups has kept them at the top of their game for 20 years.
Hot Chip will heading to Mostly Jazz for a main stage DJ set on Friday 10 July 2026, where they’ll share the bill with drum and bass leaders Fabio & Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra, British R&B pioneers Soul II Soul, Goldie (DJ Set) and Nightmares On Wax.
Other artists appearing across the festival include Jordan Rakei, reunited ’70s soul/funk Londoners Cymande, Sampa The Great and Annie & The Caldwells (Saturday); US soul sensation Jalen Ngonda, Daptone’s Thee Sacred Souls, Aussie Don West and the Mercury Prize 2025 shortlisted and twice Jazz FM Award-winning Emma-Jean Thackray (Sunday).
Also just added to the Mostly Jazz Festival bill are tipped songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist Konyikeh (Friday), who has shared stages with such artists as Sam Smith, Jalen Ngonda, Tems and Dave, and BLACKSABBATHMODE, a collaboration between nu-jazz duo BIGHEADMODE (Robbie and Ewan Moore) and the soulful Plumm which sets out capture the essence and vitality of Black Sabbath’s style through original compositions and unique arrangements.
DJs Mani Regan and Vipond have also been added to the Leftfoot Takeover Stage on Friday, while Molly Lou closes the night with a blend of disco classics and soulful house.
Taking place in the idyllic surroundings of Moseley Park, the annual three-day event is a short distance away from Birmingham’s city centre, yet a world away from city life. With sloping grounds, creating a natural amphitheatre in front of a beautiful lake, it hosts some of the best jazz, funk, soul and dance artists from across the UK and further afield.
