Is date night dead? This restaurant wants to save it – for just £25!

In response to the declining date night culture, Restaurant Bar & Grill has launched The Weekend Cut, a specially curated £25 menu intended to make weekend date nights accessible again.

The upmarket restaurant has launched the new menu in a bid to make romantic dining experiences the preferred choice for couples once more and reverse the decline in date nights, with less couples seeing restaurants as a cost-effective date night option.

‘Date night’ searches have declined 12%* year on year and the average price of a date night is said to cost couples an eyewatering £104.41**, according to research by GIGA Calculator earlier this year. In another study looking at the impact of the cost-of-living crisis, love was the real cost, with 54% of Brits admitting they’re no longer dating at all because of rising prices***.

Restaurant Bar & Grill is vying to bring the date night back to restaurants with the introduction of the Weekend Cut, meaning couples can enjoy a truly premium dining experience without the premium price tag, enjoying the finest quality steaks at less than half the price of the average UK date night.

The Weekend Cut is available in Restaurant Bar & Grill in Leeds and Liverpool, Bank Restaurant Bar & Grill in Birmingham and Opera Grill in Chester for just £25 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and features a mouthwatering 275g Native Breed British Isle Rump Steak, served with garlic butter, watercress and fries.

“Date night doesn’t have to be a luxury you can’t splurge on.” says Mark Window, Group Executive Chef at Individual Restaurants. “With the Weekend Cut, we’ve created a menu designed to make every weekend feel special again, without compromising on quality or experience”.

Restaurant Bar & Grill aims to make date night not a rare one-off, but a regular fixture. Whether it’s marking a small victory, celebrating a birthday, or just treating yourself after a busy week, couples can enjoy a meaningful evening out for around £50, far below the UK average.
