Midlands Arts Centre is delighted to announce that we will be People’s Postcode Lottery (PPL) Charity of the Week from Mon 2 – Sun 8 July.

To celebrate the amazing support we receive from Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, we’ve got a fun-filled week full of special events – all open to the public to come along and enjoy, for free!

Free drop-in workshops, Monday to Friday

Every day from Monday to Friday we’ll be hosting free drop-in workshops, showcasing the creative courses we run here at MAC – a lot of which wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive from Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery (PPL).

Come along and join in! There’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy the experience. Here’s what’s happening:

PPL Saturday: Beatboxing and dancing in the sunshine!

Saturday will feature a BBQ on the Terrace from 12-5pm, along with a hip hop-themed afternoon thanks to Break Mission. There will be sounds from DJ Unpronounceable, showcases of dance with Key Infinity and Brum’s Dynasty, beatboxing with Immortal Gecko, music from Tarju Le’sano, and a free dance workshop, perfect for beginners young and old. We’re also hoping to have a graffiti artist showing off their skills, which will be brilliant to watch!

PPL Sunday: Celebrating with steel drums!

Join us on Sunday when we’ll have steel drum music being played on the Terrace, as well as being our usual family-friendly venue, perfect for enjoying your Sunday!

What else is on next week?

Our special PPL events will be running alongside our usual busy schedule of ticketed events, including Reggae Women – a celebration of spoken word and song – on Saturday 7 July, Griff Rhys Jones’ show, Where Am I? on Thursday 5 July, Edinbrum featuring Jo Caulfield & Hal Cruttenden on Friday 6 July and Upfront Comedy giving us a hilarious comedy showcase on Saturday 7 July. There’s even a comedy club for kids taking place on Sunday 8 July, thanks to Laughing Sole.
