A spellbinding Sunday evening awaits as Katacombs headlines The Sunflower Lounge on 26th April, with support from rising songwriter Leah Wilcox.
With a life shaped across Spain, Greece, Miami, Texas and London, Katacombs’ music carries the weight of many worlds. Now splitting her time between Austin and London, she crafts a sound steeped in dark alt folk, cinematic textures and deeply personal storytelling, the kind that lingers long after the final note.
For the past three and a half years, she’s toured internationally as the keys player for Amigo the Devil, an experience that sharpened her voice as both a performer and a writer. Her 2022 EP ‘You Will Not’ marked her arrival as a compelling new artist, while her 2025 debut album ‘Fragments of the Underwater’ dives into the people, places and emotional landscapes that have shaped her life.
On stage, Katacombs is captivating: intimate yet expansive, raw yet deliberate, weaving her multicultural influences into a sound that feels haunting, immersive and entirely her own.
Opening the night is Derbyshire’s Leah Wilcox, whose hazy, dream laden blend of countrygaze, indie rock, ambient folk and 70s warmth has quickly made her one of the Midlands’ most exciting new voices. Her music is airy, nostalgic and emotionally rich, the sound of the perfect escape.
Leah’s rise has been rapid: BBC Introducing support across the East Midlands, festival appearances at TRUCK, Y Not and Dot to Dot, an HMV in store tour, and a standout moment opening the main stage at Moseley Folk & Arts Festival. She’s carving out her own corner of indie folk storytelling with confidence and heart.
