LoveBrum’s Curry King of Birmingham 2026 Raises £20,000 for Hidden Gem Projects

LoveBrum is proud to announce that the Curry King of Birmingham 2026 has raised an outstanding £20,000 in support of Hidden Gem Projects, helping to fund vital grassroots initiatives across the city.

Held at the Eastside Rooms on 12th February, the annual Curry King event brought together the very best of Birmingham including passionate supporters, and local businesses for an unforgettable evening celebrating the city’s world-famous curry culture – all in aid of charity.

Guests enjoyed exceptional dishes, lively entertainment, and a spirited competition to crown this year’s Curry King, while raising crucial funds to support smaller, volunteer-led projects that often go unnoticed but make a life-changing impact in their communities. The winning Curry creation was selected by a panel of local hospitality heroes headed up by Anita Champaneri, Managing Director of Delicious PR. The winning Curry was called Chaat Chapatti and working in partnership with local homeless charities will be used to feed 1500 Brummies experiencing homelessness or living in temporary accommodation. The £20,000 raised will go directly towards supporting Hidden Gem Projects across Birmingham. On the night two cheques were presented to local causes Alive Wellness Centre to help tackle knife crime and youth violence and Better Pathways who work to support individuals with mental health issues get back into work.

Adam Heard, Charity Manager at LoveBrum said:

“The Curry King of Birmingham continues to showcase the very best of our city – incredible food, generous businesses, and a community that truly cares. Raising £20,000 for our Hidden Heroes is a testament to what we can achieve when we all come together. These funds will directly support smaller charities delivering vital services to those who need them most.

The event would not have been possible without the support of participating sponsors including Headline Sponsor Ridge & Partners, judges, volunteers, businesses and attendees whose generosity and enthusiasm made the night such a success.LoveBrum remains committed to supporting Birmingham’s hidden gem charities and shining a light on the incredible work happening at grassroots level.
