The Sunflower Lounge plays host to a night of vibrant alternative music on Saturday, 7th March, as Birmingham trio Lucky Number You headline, joined by Callum & The Pookies and Darius Zaltash for a bill that spans pop, rock, electronic energy and everything in between.
Lucky Number You have built a reputation for crafting songs that feel both warmly nostalgic and sharply contemporary. Their sound draws from the melodic pull of 80s and 90s pop and rock, weaving synth textures, guitar driven hooks and clever songwriting into something that’s unmistakably their own. It’s music that nods to the past without ever feeling stuck in it; polished, inventive and full of character. Their headline set promises colour, energy and a flair for melody that lingers long after the last note.
Main support comes from Callum & The Pookies, the fast rising Telford pop/rock outfit fronted by The Voice UK 2023 finalist Callum Doignie. Formed in 2024, the band have quickly become one of the region’s most talked about new acts, pairing anthemic pop choruses with rock leaning drive and emotionally open songwriting. With festival appearances, a performance alongside Teddy Swims and a run of singles including Pretend, Break Me Loose and Fairytale, they bring a confident, high energy live show that’s rapidly expanding their fanbase.
Opening the evening is Bristol based British Iranian artist Darius Zaltash, known for his bold, electronic rock sound that blends heavy rhythms with danceable, emotional intensity. As the creative force behind Birmingham’s futuristic outfit The Nu, Zaltash has earned multiple Birmingham Music Award nominations and a reputation for performances that are dramatic, rhythmic and impossible to ignore.
