This festive season, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is set to transform into a spellbinding Neverland, enchanting visitors of all ages with a fun-filled experience inspired by the beloved children’s classic, Peter Pan.
Author J M Barrie gifted the rights to his beloved story to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in 1929.
This generous act has continued to benefit the hospital for decades, with the money raised helping Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) fund pioneering research, child-centred medical facilities and vital support services for children and families.
From 23 October 2026 to 3 January 2027, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery will pay homage to Barrie’s legacy, transporting visitors to the fantastical world of Neverland with its Gas Hall exquisitely decorated to reflect scenes from Peter Pan.
Visitors will journey through rooms adorned with twinkling fairy lights, pirate ships, and whimsical forests, encountering beloved characters like Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, the crocodile and Tinker Bell along the way.
The creative vision for this transformation is brought to life by Culture Creative, renowned for their expertise in sensitively crafting immersive and memorable experiences in heritage environments, all over the world.
The collaboration between Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT) and Sony Music/RG Live will help the Museum generate vital additional income through ticket sales and a pop-up retail shop.
BMT is a charity, it cares for and shares Birmingham’s unique museums and collection of one million objects. Every ticket sale helps to make sure that Birmingham has museums that make us all proud.
£1 from the sale of every ticket will be donated by our Production Partner Sony Music / RG Live to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity), helping them to ensure seriously ill children get the best chance and the best childhood possible.
From visits from Santa to carol singing with the chaplaincy team, GOSH Charity brings comfort and joy to the wards at GOSH, while giving more children the hope of many more Christmases to come.
