New Birmingham Based Record Label Launch

Brand new record label, EQ Recordings, are hosting a musical showcase to celebrate the best of Birmingham’s home-grown talents.

Taking place from 8pm on Thursday 17 November at Stirlings Bar, Jewellery Quarter, the line-up includes critically acclaimed artists Lady Sanity, UG, KLOW and Felix.

EQ Recordings is a locally-grown grassroots record label and music charity that aims to highlight the enormous wealth of musical talent to be found in and across the Midlands.

The record label is born solely out of a desire to help local artists and musicians get much-needed support, recognition and success. This allows them to make a career out of their art and in turn, help cement Birmingham’s position as one of the leading destinations for live entertainment and the creative industries.

To play homage to Birmingham’s diverse music scene, EQ Recordings have rounded up some of the most talented musicians that the Midlands has to offer, for an unmissable evening of home-grown music at Stirlings Bar.

Hot on the trail of her incredible set at Glastonbury last summer, Birmingham born and bred artist, Lady Sanity, is a female emcee with phenomenal talent. She’ll be performing tracks from her two EP’s: ‘Summer in September’ and most recently, ‘The Graduate.’

Hailed as the next big thing from famed artists including The Streets, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, rap artist and producer, U.G will also be taking to the stage, performing tracks from his critically acclaimed album ‘Dubs of the mad skint and British Pt. 2: Solutions.’

While 18-year-old Birmingham native Felix’s performance will weave layers of harmonies and melodies with EDM and house beats, in a style that has garnered attention from BBC Introducing and more.

Finally, breakthrough artist KLOW is recording her first EP and has been entertaining audiences all over the UK with a style that seamlessly blends Soul, Jazz and RnB. Both Felix and KLOW have already been signed to the record label.

Sophia Carter, artist manager and founder of EQ Recordings, said:

We want to raise the profile of the diverse talent in Birmingham and show people that we don’t only have great venues, but we nurture and are home to some of the most talented people you can find in the industry, as history will also prove. EQ puts the artists first and is focused solely on helping them to reach and live their potential.

Our launch event is just £5 to attend, as frankly, musicians need to eat too and should be paid for their time. We would love if people would come along and help us celebrate the start of what we expect to be a very exciting journey.

If you love live events, love music and love this city, then show your support and come along.

EQ Recordings launch party will take place on Thursday 17 November at Stirlings Bar in the Jewellery Quarter from 8pm.
