The doors to North’s newest taproom are set to open this month – bringing beers, wines, cocktails, banging bao, and a bit of Northern hospitality to the city centre
The doors to North Taproom: Snow Hill are set to open on Friday 25th November, bringing Birmingham a brand-new city centre drinking spot, with a varied drinks offering, outstanding Asian street food, and warm, friendly service. Renowned for their alternative approach, quirky style and excellent, friendly service, North Taproom: Snow Hill is a warm and welcoming space catering for all. North’s 24 draught lines showcase the core range from their Leeds brewery, alongside limited-edition specials and guest brews, which are served alongside an extensive and ever-changing line-up of wines, cocktails, ciders and spirits from an eclectic range of local and international producers, including an impressive low and no alcohol offering. Fellow Leeds-based brand, Little Bao Boy, will be taking care of the food menu, serving up contemporary Asian street food seven days a week.
Located in Unit 1, Snow Hill, just moments from Snow Hill station in the heart of the city centre, North’s newest taproom is housed in a modern glass building, creating a light and airy space. At 2,500sqft the taproom seats 100 inside, with space for an additional 30 standing guests, and an extensive covered outdoor seating area that seats a further 50. Interiors are relaxed and inviting, featuring plywood, plants and clean lines to create an open, spacious taproom with a Scandi feel. A large bar is surrounded by a mix of high and low seating, alongside fridges of cans to drink in or take away. All are welcome in North’s inclusive and friendly space, including children and well-behaved dogs. Tables are offered on a walk-in only basis – no bookings necessary.
The taproom will have 24 draught lines, including 18 lines of keg beer, showcasing North’s ever-evolving range of core brews, specials and collabs. The North team love working with friends, so guests can expect an eclectic array of guest breweries on the Birmingham taproom line-up. To kick things off, North will have two Brum-based specials on the taps, a deliciously smooth, juicy and refreshing West Coast IPA brewed with Dig Brew, and a tropical, juicy, double dry hopped NEIPA created in collaboration with Attic Brew Co. Beyond beer, guests can enjoy a rotating selection of cocktails, wine, fizz, spirits and a variety of grown-up no and low alcohol options.
The North team will be joined at the Birmingham taproom by their good friends and fellow Leeds-based independent, Little Bao Boy, who will be serving up a menu of contemporary Asian street food every day. Guests can expect a short, but inventive selection of Bao, including the likes of the KFB(chicken thigh marinated in gochujang buttermilk and dredged in Little Bao Boy garlic flour mix, fried and topped with iceberg lettuce, sriracha mayo and sesame seeds), and vegan-friendly Crispy Tofu(tofu deep fried in togarashi mix, topped with cucumber, hoisin, sriracha mayo, spring onion and toasted sesame seeds). A small selection of sides will include gyoza and loaded fries, as well as occasional specials.
The North team also bring Brum a strong retail offering including takeaway cans, mini kegs, a range of sustainably produced merch, and weekly and monthly subscription services for home or the office, available in venue or via the North online Store.
