New year, new hires at Pearl Comms

Midlands PR firm Pearl Comms has kicked off 2021 with the appointment of two new hires to its growing team. The B2B corporate comms specialist has welcomed Emily Eddings and Carlos Vasconcelos as Account Executives to help drive activity and deliver PR with purpose.

A BCU Media and Communications graduate, Eddings brings over two years’ agency experience in PR and content creation to the role and Vasconcelos joins after holding an in-house communications role.

Despite the challenges of 2020, people development has remained a priority at Pearl Comms and the past 12 months have seen a number of promotions across the eight-strong team. Following a robust training programme, Lucy Blackman has been promoted to Communications Consultant, leading technical copywriting briefs and strategic communications for a number of professional services projects, and Shelley Ruffles and Paige Northover have both taken up the role of Senior Account Executive.

Founded in 2017 by Managing Director and Birmingham PR, Alia Al-Doori, Pearl Comms works with UK businesses across a range of sectors, from SMEs through to industry heavyweights including the UK’s leading logistics property developer, Prologis UK, top 50 law firm, Shakespeare Martineau and top 20 accountancy firm, Menzies LLP, amongst many others.

“Coming into 2021, we are all absolutely raring to go,” said Alia Al-Doori, Pearl Comms’ managing director. “The last year has been tough going for nearly every business around the UK but we’re ready to take advantage of each opportunity over the coming months. The rulebook has been totally rewritten and there has never been a greater need for purposeful, precise, and brave comms – no matter whether talking to your teams internally, or your external stakeholders.

“The team at Pearl Comms is what makes us different. I’m a strong believer that delivering first-class work for our clients requires a first-class team. No matter whether they’ve been with me from the start, or are brand new, the opportunity to take ownership, learn, develop themselves and shape the agency is there for the taking. Emily and Carlos have that in spades, and I can’t wait to see them shine.”
